Dr. Salma Kiani - O.D, F.A.A.O
Founder
Salma Kiani, O.D. F.A.A.O, is a native of Edmonton, Alberta She completed her Doctorate of Optometry at the University of the Incarnate Word, Rosenberg School of Optometry in Texas. She was honored to be a part of the inaugural class of 2013, graduating on the Dean’s Honor Roll.
She also completed an Ocular Disease and Surgical Co-Management Residency at Omni Eye Specialists affiliated with Salus University.
Adeel Kiani, B.S.c
Co-Founder
Adeel Kiani moved from Baltimore, Maryland, to Edmonton, Alberta, in July 2018. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. After graduating, Adeel pursued his passion for business by transforming a local restaurant into a successful diner with his family. In Edmonton, Adeel and his wife, Dr. Kiani, took over an existing optical practice. He brings over a decade of business experience to Greater Edmonton Eyecare. IHe is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi.
Priti Mehta
Clinic Manager
Priti, our Clinic Manager, brings over 25 years of experience in the optical industry from India. Born in Mumbai, she has been living in Canada for the past 7 years. Priti holds a Bachelor's degree in Optometry from India and has furthered her optical education at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Passionate about optometry, she enjoys getting to know her patients, making them comfortable, and addressing their eye care needs. Outside of work, Priti loves spending time with her family, shopping, and exploring new food places.
Susan Rachid
Outreach/Networking Coordinator & Receptionist
Sawsan Rachid has a diverse background in daycare management, public relations, and business ownership, having previously run Monte Carlo restaurant in Camrose. She is also a certified cosmetician through the Canadian Cosmetic Career Association. With 13 years of experience as a department manager, Sawsan is committed to exceeding client expectations and ensuring satisfaction. She finds her greatest joy in her family and takes pride in her children's accomplishments. Additionally, Sawsan volunteers in two Edmonton communities and is a member of Mindful Minds, a non-profit organization that conducts workshops to empower and support women.
Gul Kiani
Student Optician
Gul is an aspiring optician dedicated to the art and science of vision care. Currently studying Opticianry at NAIT, she brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the field. Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Gul completed high school in Edmonton before earning a diploma in Medical Clinic and Unit Clerk Administration from Robertson College. She aims to integrate her administrative experience into her optical career. Driven by a genuine passion for helping others achieve clear vision and comfortable eyewear, Gul is eager to learn and grow alongside experienced professionals in the industry.
